Things are a little quiet over here, mostly because I rarely have two hands to use or any spare minutes to sit at the computer. There is both an abundance of words in me that need to come out and a lack of them. I did however have a little time on Friday night to just sit in the rare stillness and write. I ended up reflecting on this past year and a bit of having a shop, of all the things I have learned and loved and been challenged by and all the things which haven’t worked.
Next for the shop- or really for me- is a break. A step back to reflect, refresh, reassess its purpose for you and for me. I am hoping that some creative space, time to enjoy my little ones over Christmas and beyond, as well as reducing my internet use will be really fruitful personally as well as shop wise.
This means that I will be swapping the ETSY shop into low maintenance mode for at least a month. I will still be offering digital downloads of my prints so that they can be purchased and printed either at home, online or locally- but moleskines, totes, paintings and prints will be unavailable at this time. This will allow me to use the time I spend on orders reflecting, resting, writing, creating with abandon!
I don’t yet know if any of these things will be coming back in stock later next year or what direction the shop will take in the future. So: if you want anything in the next few months your last chance is fast approaching. Once my remaining stock of moleskines and totes are sold they will no longer be in the etsy shop and there are only a couple left so hurry!
Please let me know if there IS anything you would love to see restocked in the future. I love creating things that people love, that encourage and inspire them.
I have loved this last year and a bit of having a little shop- I’ve loved creating and designing, putting my ideas into life on paper. I love sending off each parcel, wondering where it will end up and whose hands will open up the package at the other end. There are plenty of things which honestly have been tough- I’ve realised how hard it is to actually make any money once you factor in all the costs, especially when things are slow and you wonder if your efforts are worth it. It is hard taking risks with products not knowing if they will be liked, and it’s hard being an admin and sales person when your passion is for the creative process! I have learned so much [which I hope to share more of here before too long] and I am so grateful for each encouraging comment, each purchase and review. I have some ideas and dreams for new projects and for where my shop might end up next year, but for now I am taking some space to listen and see what God has got in store.
