This month’s around these parts is a little reminder of those ‘Friday Letter’ posts I used to write.
Dear Autumn, you’re pretty beautiful this year, did you know? Maybe you were just as good last year but I didn’t remember because of the many newborn jaundice checks and general sleeplessness that comes with a new baby!
Dear watercolours, thanks for sticking with me for all these years. Sorry that my over enthusiastic toddler poked holes in your red and black paints- but thanks for providing us both with much fun times together. Thankyou for lasting through a whole alphabet series. (Almost ready to go- sign up in one of the pink boxes to know when they’re ready!)
Dear littles, please sleep a bit better now that we are home. We had a lovely week off together, but can you remember that your own beds are really nice now please?!
Dear house, thanks for being rented. Thanks for putting up with the sticky fingers, the copious crumbs and for having a wooden floor under the table so I don’t have to deal with horrible food covered carpets so much these days. I’m sorry for when I think of your faults instead of your many wonderful features!
Dear winter, be kind to us this year? I feel like we have to wear winter clothes for 9 months because England and the weather aren’t always so nice, but I know that you can be beautiful too. Some snow this year would be good?! Let’s make it through to spring with plenty of joy and goodness in between.
Dear Amelia, what a year as a family of five. Happy first birthday, and please continue to be such a smiley joy this year.
Dear blog, it’s not you its me- but I’m not breaking this off, don’t worry! At the moment I just want to make make make – so I’m spending more time on that and less time writing. I promise I will share things with you when I do have the inspiration though!
Dear brain, slow down, just a little? Remember that time is limited and to just take one step at a time. Try not to come up with too many new ideas before I’ve had time to start on the current list?!
Dear Bible, thanks for being stuffed with truth and for being my bread. Your wrinkled pages and lovely and not so lovely documenting inside just remind me how valuable you are, painted or not, online, in real life, in whatever translation you come. Thanks for always pointing me straight.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy firework night, friends!
