I realise that I jumped back into posting here without explaining too much about the rebrand or giving you an idea of what to expect around these parts now. Remembering and refining what’s at my core, and the core of my website means that things are changing- and although change can be daunting I hope it will all be change for the better.
I’ve been blogging for almost five years now, and blogging has evolved for me in a number of ways. I started because I wanted to write- and having a blog provided me with a place and motivation to write regularly. It was already more purposeful than journalling in a diary. It quickly became a sort of online journal or scrapbook, where I recorded my thoughts, our daily life, and our growing family.
Reading others’ blogs pushed me to be more creative and to believe that it was possible to make time to pursue my passions, to enjoy my season and to do the things I loved. Participating in Write 31 days last October pushed me, not just to write more often on the blog, but to write with more intention. Having a theme for the month, however flexible, really helped me to get intentional and think about sharing not just life, but what life had been teaching me.
This year I’m not going to do the 31 days challenge– mostly because there will be a baby due at the end of the month!- but I am going to be sharing increasingly intentionally on the blog. I want to get back to the roots of why I started blogging, to write, and share with you. I’m still going to be sharing everyday life, along with living an intentional creative life- but I want this space to be less journal-like and more of a community where we are all getting value together.
I’m becoming more and more passionate about embracing the everyday and making time for creative passions, things like writing and creativity no matter how much time you have- so I will be sharing what I have been learning about these things, and hopefully inspiring and encouraging you other busy folks along the way.
If you primarily read this blog as a way of keeping up with our family, now that we live far away from you (we miss you!) and you’re worried that you’re going to miss out on the more personal side of things, fear not! My newsletter is going to be sharing a personal look at life, along with helpful content and a round up of recent posts so you can be sure not to miss out on any of that. Make sure you fill in your details here or in the pink box on the website to get the very first one zooming to your inbox, hopefully tomorrow. I’m also plotting some fun freebies for newsletter subscribers soon!
If there’s anything you would love to hear about, any questions you have, or any blog posts you’ve been waiting for, please comment or email hello[at]zoeprose.com and let me know!
