I read the memory-keeper’s daughter a few years back. How are you liking it so far?
Overall, I expected more from this book. I kept expecting for something to happen, some culmination, some rise or fall – but it felt monotonous to me. It just went on and on and on with various events and then just sort of ended. It felt like the author couldn’t make up their mind what they’re trying to say, really.
The hobbit I read ages ago, in Russian. I was 20, maybe even younger. So I don’t remember much about it…
I need a haircut, too. And I don’t know what to do with my hair yet, either. I grew it the longest I’ve had since I was 7 – but I don’t ever do anything with it. Just a bun or a braid. It’s too long and too thick and takes too long to style. I need something shorter – something that would still fit in a bun if I am in a rush – but something that can be blow-dried…

Shorter hair is so much easier, I used to have it long but gradually went shorter and shorter. I agree with you about the plot of the Memory Keeper’s Daughter but kind of enjoyed just getting glimpses into their lives although the actual ending was a bit dissatisfying!
