As some of you will know, I’ve been a part of Cheerfully Given since it launched last year. As an online marketplace where you can support Christian designers and makers, it’s been wonderful to see its growth in such a short space of time. I’m now one of over 60 creatives on the website, meaning that there’s finally one wonderful place to find Christian gifts and homeware on the internet.
For me, being a part of the community of Cheerfully Given sellers has been so affirming and encouraging. It’s doing a great job at equipping creatives to live out their God given talents and gifts, whilst encouraging the wider church. I just found these words from Menekse (the founder) and it is just perfect for what it means to me and so many others.
The creative arts have been at the core of Church life since the tabernacle was constructed. Cheerfully Given’s vision is to share and encourage this great treasure! Our vision is to build a community that uses creativity to share the risen Christ with those around us.We pray that others will join with us in this exciting vision, and help us build a new website so we can continue this exhilarating journey together.”
As Cheerfully Given has grown so quickly in the past months, the current website has been outgrown and a new one needs to be made. Not only will this be much better for the sellers on the site, but it will have lots of fun new things like the blog and podcast. I’m so excited for the new things ahead and to see what God has planned for Cheerfully Given in the months and years ahead. You can be a part of His work through Cheerfully Given, by giving to the Kickstarter (and getting a lovely reward for doing so!)
If you’re not familiar with how Kickstarters work- they’re crowdfunding which means that they are a great way of getting a project funded as part of a wider community. By pledging to support the campaign, you not only support an amazing vision but you also get a reward. My personal favourites are the limited edition print above (if you get there soon you can grab it at an earlybird price!), the Cheerfully Given unicorn, and there’s also the Lucky Dip. I’ve got a few prints and some mini weaves in that, so you may even get one of those.
There’s a wonderful stop-motion video over on the Kickstarter page along with more details about the project and the rewards you can get. Pop and have a look so you can find out more, and grab the reward that catches your eye (there are limited numbers!) If the target isn’t met, then the project won’t be funded, so we need your help to back it and to spread the word, and pray.
