To help me remember the brief summer we seemed to have, here’s a sunshine picture from last weekend. Grey skies have descended but pops of bright coloured flowers along front gardens and blossoms peeking over hedges are making me smile that spring is actually here. After a week cuddling a feverish boy and with Amelia now in the middle of the same bug (but not as badly), here are some things I have enjoyed this week that might brighten your own weekend!
A compelling fiction read.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book– I have read Liane Moriarty before and enjoyed her boois- bit this one I found much more thought provoking. I couldn’t put it down (read in a couple of days while cuddling a feverish Simeon) and we are chatting about it in our Facebook group next week. I also got a copy of this book at the library so if there’s any time this weekend that will be my next read.
This quiz is so good.
This week I’ve been digging into the Flourish Bible Journaling conference and there was session about discovering your worship style, or how you connect with God. While I would have automatically said creatively or in solitude, actually my main ‘type’ was all about being in nature, and I’m seeing already how true that is for connecting with God and feeling at peace. Have a look and see what yours comes up as!
And speaking of nature- I’m looking forward to trying a fruit and veg box soon- this or this one probably. I’ve been so aware since we have food composting here that a lot of our plastic waste is from food packaging and this is one way to reduce that and make shipping a bit easier. Last Sunday was Earth Day and it’s currently real nappy week- we are only using nappies at night now as Amelia is using the toilet now, but I have loved using washable nappies for the past 6 years. They are so soft, so easy to use and you can get really fun colours! These nappies are my favourite washable ones, but there are so many choices. If you’re ever curious I’m happy to share!
Happy weekend, I hope you get some sunshine and have some adventures, big or small.
