It’s officially been half a year of the Whimsy and Wonderland subscription boxes; so much fun to put together and I’ve loved hearing reactions from when they arrive. Children’s classics just never lose their delights whether you’re old or young, so these boxes have been a perfect way to share bookish joy with those who love to read as much as I do- whether they’re going to children reading them for the first time or to grown ups who remain full of imagination and wonder.
For me personally it’s been a delightful mix of being able to use and reimagine designs I have already got and thinking outside of the box to create new delights to come through letterboxes each month. From goodies for happy mail, things you can enjoy yourself or stock up for birthday gifts and prints and goodies, it’s lovely to share the bookish love.
The first box was the Bloom box, themed around the wonderful Secret Garden. This is probably one of my favourite books ever and was so lovely to send out to celebrate the launch. With a print, postcards, notebook and key bracelet which I never took off it was a joy to put together to send out.
The Winter Wonderland box was of course Narnia themed- with my new Narnian Christmas card as well as a Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe notebook, courage dear heart card, and quote print.
Next up was the Upside Down box, inspired by Alice in Wonderland – which was superbly stuffed with two cards, a to-do notepad, print and a white rabbit necklace. I also got the most lovely edition for the book club members (you can either get the box with or without a copy of the book) so that was really fun.
With the new release of Mary Poppins comes back it seemed like the perfect time to celebrate my beloved tale with the Magical Adventure box. I designed lots of new lovelies for this one- a Mary Poppins print, bookmarks, stickers and balloon card, as well as my fairyland quote print.
And finally the Peter Pan inspired box which had four beautiful postcards (including three new designs!), mermaid card, A5 print and fairy key ring- these are so lovely.
I am currently putting together the next box to go out, a perfect springtime box with a fiesty heroine. If you’ve missed any of the boxes and want to grab one there are a few left in my shop– once they are gone I probably won’t be adding any more for a good while as baby is due at the end of May! I am anticipating closing up shop for a while, but continuing to send out Whimsy and Wonderland boxes monthly which I’ve planned almost to the end of the year- as long as I can get ahead of myself far enough.
There are some great books coming up, so if you want to share some great readalouds with your little ones, to fill gaps in your own reading life or just revel in your favourites then sign up for the next box here. You can always skip, pause or cancel any time, but it’s the best value way to get bookish surprises!
