Our skies have crowned the sun in their verdant blue array, given way to the occasional cloud and swept the winds of August almost to a close. Days have been filled with grandparent trips, adventuring in the Netherlands, cycling new paths and inhaling the smoky scent of wafting bbqs. Squealing with delight at simple swinging chairoplanes, scrabbling in the sand as the waves hum in and out of the shore. Amongst the bigger joys of having two weeks of uninterrupted family time, free from the cares that everyday life throws upon us.
Small things are filling these days, little joys that scatter mostly sunshine filled days with more sweetness.
–Seeing the little ones grow in their relationships (albeit love-hate) over the summer has been so sweet to witness. It’s lovely to be home but equally would caravan life be so bad for longer?!
-Reading books like this on my new kindle made travelling so simple and fun. If you’re quick you might get this great book or this one on sale!
-I took a handful of young living essential oils on holiday with us and I’m so glad – especially for lemon to clean up crayon on tables, to keep ants out at our campsite, and lavender for all the things. It’s my favourite.
-I’m getting fun new things ready for Autumn- not just new prints but another surprise I’m so excited for! To make a bit of room there’s a sale on lots of things in my little website shop. Some of them won’t be making a return (like this and this) so now is the time!
-I’m building up the courage to get out my sewing machine again and try some patterns from a magazine I recently got. I know that the hardest part will be deciding on fabric since my perfectionist indecisive self will want it to be the best possible decision. Suggestions welcome!
-Making little additions and changes in our home really make me smile. I swapped our bedside table for this ladder shelf and just popped up a frame full of stickers from Haleigh too. Simple things but they make such a difference.
