Whimsy and Wonderland first came to life as the name of my first collection of literary quote prints, which evoked the imagination, whimsy and wonder of childhood and the fictional worlds from those years that were, are so beloved.
It’s an idea I haven’t been able to shake off- bringing stories to life in our homes, having our formative reading years so deeply connect to us and shape us and so many characters and fictional places which we are so fond of. I long to share these places with my own little ones, to have them also feel like they could be one of the March girls, to always be looking for that hidden garden door, to find Wonderland a mysterious and wonderful place.
I want to be that child that survived, the creative adult that Einstein talks of. Great children’s books are applicable so far beyond just children and are so rich however old you are. Reminders of these wonderful books just feel familiar, like coming home, and re-reading them is a delight. Somehow the joy of discovering a classic children’s book that you have yet to read holds wonder anew, and it’s great when we can read and love them for the first time as adults.
After many many months of thinking and planning and tweaking, I’m so happy that I can finally launch Whimsy and Wonderland Paper and Book Clubs in to the world. They are the perfect way to dwell in, discover and delight in wonderful children’s classic books, and perfect for both young ones or for the child within. As either a Paper Club or Book Club member you’ll get a box of themed goodness each month, all inspired by a classic children’s book. Think stationery, cards, notebooks and extras- and a beautiful edition of the book if you are a book club member for all your reading pleasure.
The theme each month is a surprise, with clues here on the website, so you can guarantee a bookish delight through your letterbox. Sharing and discussing the joy of great children’s books is such a delight and I am so excited! You can find out all the details and more about the inspiration behind it all here, and you can get a discount using code EARLYBIRD
I am looking forward to dwelling in stories together and seeing how they enrich and affect our everyday lives.
