Over the last week we finally got a chance to go and stay in our new (to us) caravan. Josh’s grandparents have generously given us theirs as they are no longer using it. So we packed up our new (to us) car and headed a few hours down South near Bridgnorth. We arrived about 9 and Phoebe had been asleep in the car, but she was very excited to explore the caravan before we set up her cot for bed.
We spent our time seeing Josh’s grandparents, travelling the steam railway and celebrating Josh’s birthday. Phoebe liked feeding the ducks but was a bit put off when they wanted to eat it right out of her hands!
We visited the Ironbridge museums; Blists Hill Victorian town and the Enginuity museum as well. Phoebe loved looking at the map and marching along deciding where to go.
At the Victorian town there was a carousel, which had just started going when we got to it. Phoebe proceeded to scream about the fact we wouldn’t let her walk right up to it and get on whilst it span around- then when she had a go she looked very tired!! She had a go in Victorian school and investigated things in the Enginuity museum.
A walk around Dudmaston Estate (NT) was on a lovely sunny day, and I loved looking at the art galleries inside the house, particularly the botanical gallery. It reminded me of the beautiful intricate plant paintings I had studied in Art at school. I really want to get back into painting a bit more.
Our last day was spent cycling up and down hills before catching the steam train back, when it started to rain. We took Poppy with us as she’s been left at home and fed by neighbours a lot this summer; she sat most of the time in one corner which she adopted and looked miffed when Phoebe tried to hug her!
