We made a den the other weekend when Daddy was away and my brother was staying here, to help stave away the grumps. Phoebe enjoyed lying down with her baby and reading some books. We made it through a week without him; but every time Phoebe sees him now after he’s been at uni or something she gets upset, because she remembers that he’s not been there. She loves spending time with him.
I’m so glad I could do some more crochet squares for Phoebe’s blanket whilst watching an 80’s documentary for my Irish Fiction class. I’m hoping to have it done soon so that when she’s in a toddler bed it can go on. I’m about halfway through the squares, but took a considerable break in the summer! Autumn weather means I’m in the mood for wool; although I’m having to put off starting some knitting until I have some more time!

She is so cute. And I’m sort of dying over that sweater. We built Kinsey a tent for her to read in. She also just loves to lay in it and look at her books. Great idea, Mama!

She has three jumpers like this; she loves them! Also the hood is handy to hang onto when she wanders off by herself and lets go of my hand!

My crocheting is so bad I just guffawed at my latest effort and just about woke up my little boy, who was sleeping in the back seat. I’m going to persist – maybe I’ll have a blanket for him by the time he’s sixteen.

I found that knitting was so slow to get anywhere that Phoebe was a few months old before I finished a baby blanket for her that I’d started years before; it took me about 4 attempts to learn to crochet before I could actually do it!

I’m inspired to keep trying!
