At the moment, I am…
smiling… at everyday life, despite the chickenpox keeping us in the house. Next week Phoebe starts at preschool, but part of me wants to spend all day everyday at home, just us. After three or four weeks mostly at home with the chickenpox, we have really got into a good rhythm together. We doing things we love, and having fun and learning together.
watching… the beautiful sunshine every day which has been streaming in our windows and bringing whispers of spring with it. Hope for a lighter, refreshing season full of growth and warmth is so inspiring.
trying… to go to bed earlier and to consistently wake up earlier. I just downloaded a free sleep cycle app, which is making waking up less painful but I do need to watch bedtimes.
cherishing… the stage both little ones are at right now. Phoebe, at just 3 is really blossoming, being more independent and learning essential skills about sharing. Simeon now wants to cruise everywhere, and can crawl too so he is much less frustrated.
planning… lots of things, and trying to be patient knowing that I won’t be able to implement or do them all right away. I am trying to make a sensible plan of action for things like my Etsy shop, to help it grow to the place I would love it to be.
putting… my phone down more often and loving the freedom and mental space that comes as a result. Freeing my mind from the plethora of information out there is so helpful. While a lot of it is useful to me, cramming it into my head makes me feel anxious and makes me feel like I need to be doing more, which is not the case.
exploring… new opportunities and remembering that I would love to write more widely. I’m pushing a few doors of places I can write slightly different things to those I share in this space.
painting… words, letters, flowers, watercolours. All with my toddler buddy over the table from me who is developing and growing artistically which is so lovely to see. Whether she has a long-term interest in art or not doesn’t matter- but right now she loves exploring the colours and technique.
reading… more fiction following my latest post, even though it is in snatches of time throughout the day. It has been nice to switch off and take some time out.
loving… lots of beautiful handmade things. Check out my February loves Pinterest board for some inspiration!
